Thank you for that.
0:46:14
Non awardee Carter's are obviously not allowed to collect commercial waste in Queen Central.
0:46:19
Has DSNY had to conduct enforcement against ongoing service by non awarded Carter's in Queen Central and if so please describe how that enforcement has taken place?
Javier Lojan
0:46:29
Yeah so that's definitely one of the things we look for.
0:46:34
It's definitely a thing that I think we haven't seen much of.
0:46:38
There was one incident that we experienced where it was didn't seem like it was an intentional violation by the non awardee.
0:46:48
It was on the border of the Queen Central you know, the the border of of the the the zone.
0:46:56
And I and I and I think that was addressed and rectified.
Frank Marshall

But
Javier Lojan
0:47:04
and I'll just pass it to us as commissioner Marshall for if if that obviously is something that we find to be intentional what would be the violation for that?
Frank Marshall
0:47:10
Yes.
0:47:11
Chair, so there was one incident.
0:47:13
It was it was a Dunkin Donuts that was on the border of Queen Central.
0:47:19
So if you cross the street you could be at Queen Central or you may not be at Queen Central.
0:47:23
So another non awardee was servicing that establishment.
0:47:28
It was flagged for the department.
0:47:31
We reached out to the non awardee.
0:47:34
They acknowledged and stated that we made a mistake, we didn't realize it.
0:47:38
We looked into their justification.
0:47:41
It made sense on the map tool because it's just such a niche They then vacated the from servicing the awardee, I mean from servicing the customer.
0:47:54
The customer selected a appropriate CWZ awardee.
0:47:58
The customer was also reimbursed money for the services provided and we move forward.
0:48:03
So it was a great lessons learned, wasn't intentional and as soon as it was identified we rectified it and moved forward.

It's like when a council member is in my district and they shouldn't be you know.
